Hose that goes from it appears the exhaust manifold to a black box in front of the air box. It got hit today while installing a new radiator and basically crumbled. This on an 88. Sorry for the small cell phone pics. TIA.

It opens the little Valve thats in the front of the airbox I took mine apart and tossed the Valve

Sends heated air to engine for better combustion when cold. Probably more an issue for emission control than driveablity, but might improve cold running a bit if it works. You probably won't miss it.
