Hello all,
I'm starting to notice a ticking noise that can only be heard from under the car, from the oilpan area. ( 2001 4.0 )
My car has only 32K miles on it, as is in excellent condition, with lots of performance boltons.
The noise is really annoying when I'm under the car, I also noticed that whenever I shut down the engine when hot, it stumbles and dies with a shudder. Dont know if this is related.
I couldn't notice any performance issues with the engine or increased oil consumption or that sort of thing, but there s lots of talk about bad rod bearings or failing con rods that might cause that sound, and that's freaking me out.:shocked:
any ideas?
