Im trying to figure out what size valve stems are commonly used in after market rims like cragars and american racing(what I have).Want to pick some up as spares.
Are they normally the same size as stock jeep rims?
I already have a stem tool just need to know what size valves to pick up....walmart had two sizes but idk wich one i need for american racing rims

Most wheels use the smaller size.

You can use either, shorter ones are less likely to get chewed up by foreign objects.

does anyone know the hole size?

.453 rim hole size,1 1/2" long. Fits stock XJ rim and all aftermarket (Crager,AR) rims to my knowledge ...
