What's left to do to your rigs in prep for Sierra Fest?

Mine is a nice and small list, which could change after running Mix Canyon next Sunday:

1. Adjust both front and rear bump stops.
2. Fix leak at rear brake line
3. Grease zerks
4. Change oil

Oh joy... Here's mine.

- buy/install tires
- install gears
- cut front fenders
- cut n fold rear fenders
- shorten front bumper due to clearance issues
- Finish rear bumper
- bump stop
-EDIT: install/wire rock lights

I think (hope) that's it....

And the kick is that I will only be home for 10 more days to work on this along with a run to the junkyard and fixing whatever I break at Srmitchell's SR/dv run.

Stuff I did:

Purchased spare u-joints for D/S and front axle
Removed 7-pin trailer harness from rear bumper
Changed C8.25 and D30 diff fluid and install Lube Locker (Royal Purple)
Installed mini skids on D30 axle
Swapped driving lights for lower profile version
Changed engine oil and filter (Royal Purple)
Torqued suspension bolts
Aligned leaf springs and torque u-bolts
Adjusted rear/parking brakes
Lubed all zerks
Rotated KM2's
Bought .357 ammo
Bought anti-bear spray
Bought cheap beer in a can (MGD...barf)

Stuff to do:
Buy spare front D/S
Replace crappy JVC radio head
Remount Firestick and adjust SWR
Trim rear fenders
Change plugs (to Champion)
Check/top off TC fluid
Restore Airbag/horn/cruise control functionality
Test rig during Sean's DV/Slick Rock run on 21-24 July
Fix rig and test again during Jeepers Jamboree on 28-31 July

Well, I think my list is pretty short:

Modify front bumps / install Prothanes
Relocate axle end sway bar link mounts
Reinforce factory front axle bracketry with some additional welds / gussets
Create a heat shield for my ARB lines in the engine compartment
Organize / add to my wheelin' tool kit
Improve my collection of spare parts
Install NAXJA sticker

Should be good...

My list is pretty short:

Make it start
Make it run
Make it turn
Make it stop
Provide fueling and cooling
provide exhaust muffling

currently it does none of those things. :anon:

kevin, you REALLY need to add "install tow points" on the top of your list.:laugh2:

Wishing he had the U-Bolt style yokes . . .

Caption should read: Wishing his radius arm front suspension didn't have a drivers side upper that contacted the pinion yoke.

Some progress...

Spare parts collection was greatly improved with the addition of a complete set of cro-mo D30 shafts and joints, driveshaft u-joints, pitman arm, Currie drag link end, and a stock steering set up. Hopefully that (in addition to what I already had) is enough to get me by, or at least gives me something to barter with...

Also got my ARB lines shielded from the engine bay heat. My air system is invincible now! :roflmao:

Tuesday should be bumpstop / welding day if all goes right! Hope I have time to get that NAXJA sticker installed before the run...

Nice, I finished the list with the exception of the front bump stops. I focused on the the back half. Changed out the leaf spring center pins that were questionable. Pain in the butt. No more brake fluid leakage. Wheeled a little on Sunday with the Jeep packed for SierraFest. Did fine. I am almost ready.

Work is a little scary right now. I scheduled this trip 2 1/2 monthes ago and now everyones in a panic. I guess I will just get done as much as possible this week and quietly not show up for work on the 8th.

Drove the damn thing...
