I am looking for a simple after market keyless entry kit. I do not need the alarm function, I just want to be able to open and close the doors.
The truck came with the factory option, so all the wiring is present

why not use a factory key fob?

Yep, buy a replacement fob and be done with it. Less money, less effort.

I snagged a fob off of eBay for $5.51 shipped to my door. The local Dealership (Faricy Brothers) programmed the rig for free. You have to use the DRB 3 tool to program the vehicle to accept the fob signal which is radio based, not IR.

I wanted to replace the system due to the alarm function goes off randomly
at he most inopertune times even if the key fob is a mile away and and the entry / lock function from the key fob works when it feels like it.
All the door open switches/ door ajar light/ and door lock solenoids work fine.

I would say you have other problems that need to be addressed first.

The only alarm function I've seen from the factory is just the panic button that honks the horn and I think flashes the lights. If its doing more than that I'd be looking under the dash for some kind of aftermarket alarm and taking it out first.
