Sanden 709T Compressor Parts Question

Has anyone found a place to get reasonable clutch parts for this compressor. I'm referring to armature plate, shims, and field coil. Also how about tools for working on this area of the clutch. Having a problem on my wife's 2000 where the compressor stops spinning once it's run for awhile. I could feel the magnetic pull on the armature plate if I put a screwdriver near it. If I applied a little pressure with the screwdriver it engaged and worked fine again. Took it apart today and removed the single shin in it and also wire brushed the rust off of the face of the armature and the inside edge and face of the pulley. Now just need to take a long ride and see if the problem is fixed.

Oldbill, I did virtually the same thing to my 96 compressor
a few weeks ago. Mine was screeching like a Banshee.
I removed 1 (of 2) shims and sandpapered the clutch
plate and removed all rust.

It's worked fine so far, but I have no idea if this is a
permanent fix or not.

RockAuto sells complete clutch assemblies, but as you
probably know, the pricing is almost what you would
pay for a complete new compressor...
