I'm finishing up an engine swap and I have one piece I can't remember where I took loose from. It was on the passenger side around the oil filter.

stud for it is actually on the cylinder head, just above the block surface.

IIRC its an ignition resistor, or something similar. I once had someone argue with me that it was a knock sensor.

Knock Sensor... That would have been a good discussion.
Didn't they eliminate the knock sensor on the OBDII engines? Even at that, it would have to screw into the engine, not be attached by a bracket...

They knock sensor was only on Renix engines. All HO engines do not have a knock sensor.

That is your coil Capacitor.

Ignition capacitor is actually the correct term. Suppresses noise from the ignition system from coming through the radio

Yea, thats what most people call it.... but if you are looking for it in the wiring schematics of your FSM, you will find it on page 8W-30-4 labeled as a coil capacitior.
