e brake cable question

i did do a search, couldnt find what i was looking for.

i picked up a dana 44 off of an 87 xj this past weekend. i plan on putting it under my 97. will my factory e brake cables on my 97 hook up into the brake assemblies on the 87 dana 44? did alot of search on the net, couldnt find a thing.. :dunno: any insight is appreciated. (on a side note, i have to retain the e-brake as germany requires it to work.) thanks

I used the cables from my '99 Dana 35 when I installed my '87 Dana 44. It was a little tight getting the ends onto the e-brake actuators in the drum assembly due to the metal coils on the ends of the cables, but they fit...

you can also use TJ ebrake cables. you can get them in longer sizes so they arent so tight. MJ cables are what i used and they work fine.

Aren't MJ cables routed down the center of the vehicle and therefore equal lengths?
