Burping the radiator on a 98 cherokee??

I was just wondering if it was necessary to burp the radiator on the newer cooling systems. Mine is running hotter now that I have a brass 2 core radiator than it did with the stock one. I believe the main issue is the brass radiator, since brass doesn't dissapate heat as efficiently as aluminum. Thanks!

No burping required on the late model systems.

Only out of habit, on my '98, I fill the rad while the car is jacked up off of it's front wheels.
This allows most of the air caught in the head and thermostat housing to migrate up and
burp into the upper rad tank. Drive the car a few times and check the coolant level again.
Top off as needed.
