Basics: How a Differential Works.

Hey all, I'm going to be posting some tech links for members who are just getting into Jeeps and possibly automobiles in general. Let me know if this is the wrong section. I'll be posting a few things from time to time from general how it works things to XJ Specific topics I haven't been able to find walkthroughs for yet.

To start off with my first post, I wanted to share a you tube video. Yes it's produced by GM. Yes it starts out with some sweet motorcycles. Yes it's from the thirties. And Yes, I believe it to be one of the greatest explanatory videos ever made in regards to how an automotive differential works. It's not too technical but it gives you a solid understanding of what the junk in your pumpkin is doing.

Pumpkin, hog head, third member, differential housing, center section. All the same thing.

apples, and macintosh's. not all the same.

I saw that video on here about a year ago when I was trying to figure things out. Great vid. Simple and easy to follow.. :roll:
