Oil Pressure Problem!!!

Ok so I have just noticed today an issue with my oil pressure. At idle I am between 15-40 psi, under partial acceleration I am at 40-65 psi... now if I am under full throttle whether sitting still or not whenever the engine is above 3k rpms my oil pressure drops almost as if the pump can't keep up and when i say drops I mean drooooopppps! Almost to 0 psi. Any suggestions? I'm thinking the oil pump is tired. I have 115k miles on the engine.

Verify the readings with a mechanical gauge. Sounds like your oil sender may be going south.

Agree with cruiser54, you need confirmation.

Some big box parts stores will rent you this gauge; call around.

Good data = good decisions.

Oil pressure spec for the 4.0 is as follows:

*Not less than 13 psi at HOT idle
*Between 37-75 psi over 1600 rpms
