P0432 oddness

I been getting this code lately. It popped on for the fourth time. It's something about the cat converter below efficiency level in Bank 2 or something like that. The odd thing about it is it comes on at the exact same spot each time. I drive 22 miles on the turnpike at 55 mph, get off the exit, go through two stop lights and then it pops on as I'm waiting. Same thing every time and no change. Would a bad sensor trigger a CEL at the same spot or does it sound like the cat is indeed bad?

I wouldn't concentrate so much on "where" it trips the code, just the fact that it does.

It is a 2001.


I did have that heat soak misfire since I bought it but the fan mod fixed that since but I'm guessing the years of misfiring damaged the cat?

Bank 2 is the rear 3 cylinders (4, 5 and 6). The heat soak misfire is on cylinder #3 right? If so that is on bank 1.

Well I was getting misfires from cyl 3 most of the time but it did misfire in 4 and 6 every now and then.

Did the OP ever solve this P0432 issue? Just curious as I've had the same problem on my '01 for a while now. Hate to replace the Pre-Cat system ... unless I have too.

Not yet. Still get it from time to time, after long trips on a hot day.
