I have a 6 inch ish lifted 1997 cherokee. The rear springs were 8 inch springs and I removed two leafs to lower and soften the rear, but... when the spring is flat or flexing up the shackle hits the body just infront of the rear bumper. I love how the jeep rides and handles as is, any sugestions? thanks!

HDO relocation brackets could help... Perhaps some boomerang shackles.

if you like how it is, get a boomerang shackle

if you want to risk changing the ride and handling, look into shackle relocation brackets

Longer boomerang shackle. If you want to get technical, remove the current shackle. stick a block between the spring and frame, and pick up the axle until it's sitting on the bump stop. Measure distance from the spring eye center to the shackle mount center. That's the aprox. shackle length you need to avoid spring bind.

^ those are mine and i must say the Jeep rides 10x better, i had the same exact issue that you had. take my word for it, fix it as soon as possible. i put it off and it turned into this:

and thats before it got bad
ripped the shackle box completely off the unibody, and tore a path of destruction in the rear crossmember area, im sure ktm can vouch for that. not to mention it rode like complete garbage. i like the relocation brackets, only gave me like a 1/2" of lift and leveled out my Jeep, win win in my book.

This looks exactly what i would like to do! So glad someone had this done with pics awesome! ill post some pics when i get it done!

KTM or rw -

I'm thinking about getting these, and I thought the "ideal" rear shackle angle was 45*. Could you have moved the upper bolt one or two holes forward, or does it really matter that much?
