Another 2001 XJ Header/exhaust question.

Hello guys/gals and everyone in between.
I know this topic has been brought up so many times and been beaten to death but it hasn't really answered my queries. I have looked all over this forum, cherokeeforum, jeepforum and the likes all over the WWW and i've seen so many different answers.

my Ride:
DD 2001 cherokee sport
3" RC lift

Plans (slowly getting materials)
784 injectors
Leigh TB
Cowl Snorkel/CAI
*whole exhaust system upgrade*

The latter is what's giving me a hard time (headers, pre-cat and downpipe). Unfortunately mine comes with the darn 2 pre-cats and i would like to replace it with the same or with a more simple type without breaking any emissions law. Again, this is my daily driver and requires a straight bolt on application. So far, this is what i have found that might suit my needs but I don't seem to find any thread/reviews for any of them.

Anybody have any input about these? Anybody have any other suggestions? I was looking into the Banks Torque tubes but it doesn't come with a downpipe:

Anybody have any input about switching from one with pre-cats to ones without and not using an O2 simulator? How did you go about the O2 sensors? Thank you very much in advance!

If the cats aren't damaged in at all then just go with a performance cat back system and be save the cash for the motor and stuff. I have Rustys catback, it comes with a flowmaster muffler and 2.5" tailpipe for like $150, it definitely opens this up and is completely legal. Most of the headers sold for the 2000+ 3 cat setup are often a huge PITA to install and not really worth the effort or money since they are so short, they don't really do much.

Thank you very much. I contacted him already and hopefully it's still available. It is for a 4.0L wrangler and that still leaves me having to go search for pre-cat and downpipe :tears:

I think it'd bolt up to your stock pre-cat should you choose to use it. You still have the big cat pre-muffler, right?

yes..unfortunately. these cats r costing me more compared to my 2 dogs!
