97, canyon rims with 1" spacer. all nuts tight

OK, so got a squeak from driver side tire. when standing still and engine off, turn the steering and i get it. also get it while driving down the road at slow speeds.

lifted the tire of the ground, and squeak is gone.

lowered down, I grabbed tire and moved from left to right and can get it to squeak.

the metal is making the sound come from all over, so cannot pin point it.

ujoint is sealed, so cannot grease it. lower ball joint sealed, upper has fitting (going to grease that, ran out).

the key im thinking is when the tire is lifted, the squeak is gone.

any help appreciated.

Check the steering box bolts.

its comming from the tire. closest we can tell its comming from the wheel bearings, but its not clunking. just squeek. also, doesnt look like any play in the ball joints.

Dry ball joints will squeak with the weight of the vehicle on them. I had the same issue many years ago and finally had to change them when the clunking started.

greased the top one, and sprayed some lube into the bottom just to see, squeek still there.

thinking comming from inside the knuckle. tearing into it this weekend
