1998 missfire????

I've had a rough idle and an engine light for years. My mechanic tested it and it tells him there is a missfire I think in #2cylinder. When he looked it up in his computer it said to change the valve springs. You can guess how much that really helped, well at least i got to have the fun of changing them.

Anyone else ever had this come up before??
