Ok, I just purchased a 96 cherokee. It has a problem with the ignition.
Currently if you place the key in the ignition and turn it, you can turn it all the way to the start position with no resistance but it does not start.
The only way to start the jeep is if you use a screw driver to wedge between the little star headed screw that faces the driver, on the outside of the ignition. If you do this then turn the key it will start one out of every five tries.
Any ideas of what might be the problem would be appreciated.
