WJ Shocks, 4.5" lift

Has anyone here used stock WJ shocks with 4.5" of lift? I got them for free and was curious how they would ride. Mine is still out of commission so I haven't had a chance to use them.

WIth them fully stretched out I had to get a large nut to close the space between it and the mount up in the front. The rear isn't compatible with our XJ.

So with them being max'ed out on stretch at 4.5" of lift... what should I expect?

I'm thinking a stiffer ride.... but more ability to travel and reduce fender treading if I were to catch air.

here you go found it...

you will need to extend them a bit

the front need Bar pin eliminators and a 1.5"-2" spacer

the rear will just need a BPE, you can use your rear sway bar link mounts

XJ 4.5"

Front

• Collapsed Length (in.): 14.54
• Extended Length (in.): 24.75
• Shock Stroke (in.): 10.21

rear

• Collapsed Length (in.): 14.82
• Extended Length (in.): 24.84
• Shock Stroke (in.): 10.02

-----------

WJ stock

front

• Collapsed Length (in.): 11.52
• Extended Length (in.): 18.66
• Shock Stroke (in.): 7.14

rear

• Collapsed Length (in.): 13.71
• Extended Length (in.): 22.58
• Shock Stroke (in.): 8.875

So the BPE for the front requires drilling some holes? I don't see how it mounts since the front has a rod that comes out of the shock.

Also, the WJ doesn't work on the rear at all. The bushing on the shock that mounts to the axle is too small.

This is looking more like I need all new shocks.
