87 XJ rewired

I have a 87 Xj with the 4.0.
I got engine harness and dash harness out of a 90 that was in good shape.
I have the harness's in but not it cranks but wont start and none of my lights work.
Also when i turn my key nothing happens. No acc. come on or fuel pump.
I was trying to start it by jumping the starter
I was also hoping someone could help me figure out the problem.

While engine is cranking, check the output of the crank shaft position sensor with an a/c voltmeter. Out put should be around .5volts. If Less than .3volts, thats' one reason it won't start.

I'll assume that you changed both the engine harness and the under-dash harness (since the '90 doesn't have the C-101 connection)--

1) does anything work with the key switch?

2) is there power at the starter relay?

3) have you checked any of the fuse links directly off the starter relay?
