So im thinking on getting a 6.5 lift for my xj but im debating on getting a long arm or a short arm kit, im looking at these two http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_6x.html or the long arm http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_6xla.html . anyone has any experience with this kits? i honestly dont do much offroading... i currently have a 3.5 lift and im very happy with it but id like to be higher. is the 600 dollars extra worth it? like is said my current set up gets around the trails decently.

Second question is where to get a good deal on a set of 35s M/T tires? any hook up? also gonna need some wheels....

My advise is to get it done right the first time and to go ahead with the long arms. Also remember to set aside money for regearing and other stuff like that.

i would run a rock krawler i bought there long arm kit and there ares are solid like they will not brake no that bad of an install a little welding a little more pricey but deffinitly worth it and u can get kits with deavers and everything u need for an awsome trail rig or jeepspeed

Well, you could add to your lift and get this:

Something like ACOS in front, and u-bolt eliminator/longer shackle in the rear. or new/bastard leaf pack.

Or, I know FrankZ makes an awesome long arm kit for not much more.

I'm running a 4.5" Rough Country.
Like many say, you get what you pay for. Shcoks blow, bushings blow and the ride, rough!! Hahaha
but it does the job (higher than stock and biger tires). So far nothing has broken. I've had it for 2 yrs on my DD though I don't go wheeling.

I would definitly go long arm!!!! I am extreamly happy with my 6"TOMKIN LA kit
