LED Rock light opinions

I did some searching but didn't really come up with much. What are you guys using? I saw some refer to ebay listings that came up expired.

Has any one used the Off Road Only ones? I am just looking at how they would hold up long term.

The Vision X ones? Does this control box complicate everything as far as use and installation?

Thanks in advance

I run the ORO LED's, I have a tollay of 8. They are bright the magnets are very strong. You got to love the Heat Solder and Seal but connetor that come with the kit.
Just strip twist and hit with a heat gun.

I think the control box in the VisionX kit would make install much easier, but I hate wiring. Plus that kit uses 15 LED's per pod instead of just one.

Have had my vision x kit for over a year, still werking great, no burned out pods or leds, handle mud, snow, water, salt, solvent just fine. Throw away the screws they come with for mounting, get some decent stainless screws, and I also put a blonb of fast cure windsheild silicone on the backs of the pods as I installed them.

Oh yea the nice thing about the cast in magnets in the ORO, is if you leave your leads a little long you can move them around to where you need them when working on your XJ.

I like the new version that they have (off road only) looks wise compared to the first ones. i was told they are a ton brighter also. KC is this the style you have?

Think there would be any trouble with them falling off when running a washboard road at speed? Or are the magnets more than strong enough to keep a little one ounce light in place?

I have not had one move in a year of hard wheeling.

Cool, think I'm sold. Solid mounting, bright light output, no need for a control module, not daisy chained together like some of the kits. I can finally put that rock light switch in my overhead console to use...

I have the ORO lights pictured above. Took me a few hours to install at my camp site before the SierraFest night run. I just used the magnets, very strong, and only had one come off on a snow run recently. It took a bowling ball of snow and ice to pop it off.

Nice thing is I just slapped it back up there. I want to add one under the hood to replace the stock light.

i had waterproof LED strips i bought off of ebay for $5 shipped a pair.

they worked pretty damn well if i say so myself. one behind each turn signal, one over the driveshaft, one above the hitch in the back.

COMMENCE PIC WHORING

These lights are pretty awesome but Ive got a few questions

How do these lights exactly work?

Do they use the cars power or a separate battery pack?

Also, what about switches inside of the XJ for them?

These question are very basic because I have no prior knowledge of this sort of light. Also my first post

I have the Vision X and they are really bright only used 6 of the 8 included and super easy to install. The only problem I had was self caused. I didn't use screws and just used the provided 3M tape and had 2 lights come out of the billet housings. The box simplifies install because u can just plug it in to the lighter or you can hard wire it in plus you can add more to it by buying more pods.

Haha pretty close with the F&F, here are my VisionX with my camera on night setting.

Then here they are on just a general setting on the camera, I would say the are closer to the other picture in person.
