Broken oil sending unit and light on

In th oem forum i had posted that i had broken off my oil sending unit and had replaced it twice tonight and the guage still doesnt work, my check gauges indicator is on and i am considering just installing a manual guage and i do nont know if there is a way to reset the indicator light in the dash? and if anyone has some insite as to possibly installing the gauge in the inst cluster?

Year of jeep? Try disconnecting the battery for a little while. I've experienced broken senders and replaced them on a 96 and a 98, both times the gauge went back to normal on its own. Double check along the wiring that its getting a proper connection and isn't broken anywhere

Its a 1998 auto. yeah i tried that earlier and didnt change. if i go with a manual oil gauge im gonna need this light to go away
