Changing front lower control arms. Vehicle had a lift and adjustable arms before. How do I make sure my alignment is right for the lower arms? Before doing this I found the left tire spacing 3/4" shorter then the passenger wheel base. Is this right do I make this up adjusting the control arms?

Thanks
Rob

Ok they are swapped out. Now I do not have an angle finder or whatever but I measured from front tire to back tire and they are off by almost 3/4" from driver to passenger side. Is that right? If not how do I change it?

how much of a lift do you have? The LCAs should be the same length on each side.

Here is a baseline chart when setting things up:

It is a stock upcountry Jeep. 1996. I just put stock lower control arms on. I have a left wheelbase 3/4" shorter than the right. Do I just make them equal, or do I just have the top of the axle tilt forward or backward?

Not sure why it is skewed. I will set them equal. Hopefully there is enough adjustment. I think the drivers side bracket is bent on the axle. My guess is a new Dana 30 will be needed as I cannot weld good enough for an axle bracket.

The LCA mount at the body is the adjuster.

Adjustments are made by adding, or subtracting shims from the shim pocket, sliding the inner part up tight to the shims, and tightening the assembly.

Both sides should have the same number of shims if everything is straight.

My bet is that either the uppers are bent, the axle mounts are bent, or you have a tweaked Jeep.

Ok I straightened it out. I found my centering pin on the rear axle was partially missing. It is now fixed and I measured axle to axle and I'm within 1/32". Now do I set the caster on a stock Jeep with 225 75 16's with the top of the axle tipped back?
