bolt size help real quick please!!!

Does anybody know for sure what the bolt size is for the bearing cap on 4.0L 99 xj? I think it's 20mm or 13/16 it would be helpful if someone could confirm that since I will have to walk down to the parts store in the morning.

a Main cap bolt correct? If so, you should really get one from the dealer, the newer ones like yours should have a stud on the top to support the main cap girdle... I'm not sure on the size, might be 1/2x13 or something close to that...

yeah, just checked.... 1/2x13 with a 3/8x16 stud

Are you asking for the correct size socket to loosen the bolt ?

1/2"-13 should use a 3/4" socket.

5/8'ths/16mm for the girdle, 3/4/19mm for the bolt.... I think...

You asked for bolt size, not socket size, thats why I gave you bolt size

Sorry for my confusion I meant bolt head not bolt and i thought you were talking about the girdle. Anywho I got it done it was 9/16 socket for the girdle nut but I used a 13/16 socket for the bearing cap but it did feel loose so I don't know....whatever it's back together
