House coming out from the top of the Transfer Case?

I have a house that attaches at the top of the transfer case, and looks like it's supposed to go to the front of the car. But mine looks like it broke off, and is just hanging around the exhaust pipe. Any idea where it's supposed to connect to. It's a 231 case. Thanks for the help.

The vent "hose" goes forward and up,its usually tied up next to the transmission vent.

I didn't think there was much room above the transfer case to fit a house.

There is a hose coming off the top of the transfer case. A vent hose that runs up into the back of the engine bay, on the firewall near the transmission dipstick (if auto)

Yes, yes, yes... make fun of the dyslexic I got it, so it's just a vent. It was probably tied up some were and got loose. It does look like it has a small filter on the end of it. Thanks.
