Hope I can get a quick answer to this....
I am swapping a Chrysler 8.25 into a '90 XJ which was a D35. Is the driveshaft length the same?

nope. should be a little bit shorter. the driveshaft could still work though.

The 90 driveshaft will be longer then the one in a 8.25 rig.
If memory serves me right this is the order from longest to shortest stock rear shafts with the old style tcase that I have dealt with:
AX15 with a dana 35
AW4 with a dana 35
AX15 with 8.25
AW4 with 8.25

The 8.25 has a longer pinion then the 35. In my renix jeep i used a ax 15/35 driveshaft for the right length in my aw4/8.25 after lifting it to compensate for the length needed from the lift. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I got the driveshaft in place, and it's really close to the same. The slipyoke is slightly further out than it was with the 35. Like an eighth of an inch maybe three-sixteenths.
I did try the search function first, but evidently my search-fu isn't working.....or I asked the wrong questions. < grin>
