87 cherokee no start.

So i got a cherokee straight out of the bone yard. 87 cherokee chief 4 door. Sat for 4 years or so. it has spark and compression, it fired up off starting fluid. So i know its the fuel pump. no prime and no fuel at the rail. How do i check it? Is it the three prong plug? Relay? My jeep does not have a ballast resistor on the driver side. Just a relay. Any help would be great.

When you first turn on the key, do you hear the pump run? If no pump, then check typical electrical stuff - fuse, relay, etc. and make sure you have power all the way back to the pump.

If you do hear the pump then it is likely that the short rubber line inside the tank has rotted. I had that happen on 2 that sat for a long time.
