Key Lock Cylinder Replacement/Prying Turn Signal Switch

So, yesterday my key fumbled up in the ignition, and now it's stuck in the "On"
position. It's been jamming up for a while now, but yesterday it finally locked
up on me. Im new to the :NAXJA: forums, but I could really use some help.

I've got a 1990 Jeep Cherokee 4.0, automatic. I've got a Chilton's manual that
I'm using, and it told me to remove the steering wheel, which I've done, and
now I'm to the point where I need to remove the turn signal switch. It says I
have to pry the turn signal lever off, is there any tips on this? I've tried it, but
it's not acting like it wants to give, and I don't want to break it. Thanks for any
help you have on this subject.
