Help with headgasket job please!!!

So i started a headgasket job in my driveway a few weeks ago. I got everything off including the head and ended up going out of town for a couple weeks. the hood has been covering it but nothing else protecting it from the elements. ive noticed surface rust showing up in the clyinders.

What should I do to clean clyinders? remove rust?

Hit the exposed surfaces with some oil.

I would try and clean it up using a green ScotchBrite pad.

Steel wool or crocus cloth will leave abrasives behind.
