My 1999 Cherokee with a 4.0L has a check engine light on. The Scanner is reading a code of P2000. Every thing I can find on this code is
NOx Adsorber Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1.

I have read changing the O2 Sensor may fix this code. I have also read that the Catalytic convert could be going bad the jeep has 135,000 + Miles.

Any help would be appreciated.

P2000 NOx trap efficiency below threshold.

Either your CAT isn't working properly or the after-CAT sensor is reading wrong.

I replaced the Rear O2 sensor. It resolved the CEL. I also replaced the front O2 sensor once i confirmed the code was fixed.
Both sensor were in pretty bad shape after 136K on the original sensors.

I had to use the impact wrench to get the rear one out.

I made sure to give it a healthy dose of anti seize on the thread when i put them back in.

Thanks for the help.
