CJ7 dana 44 info wanted.

I would like some information on a dana 44 out of a CJ7. Did some google searching but couldn't come up with much. Are these good for a swap. What is the spline count on the shafts. Thanks any info is appreciated. Rear axle i'm talking about.

It's most likely too narrow for an XJ. Strengthwise it should be on par with most other D-44 rear ends except maybe thinner walled axle tubes.

XJ stock rear ends are ~59" wide and I believe the narrow track CJ rears are 55" and the wide tracks are 57".
I know the rear axle in my CJ-5 (which are all NT) is WAY too narrow for an XJ.

Plus they are not 5 on 4.5" wheel pattern.

The CJ& assembly is probably a bit narrow for us. 29 spline IIRC. You would be better off with front and rear D44 from the Wagoneers.
