I was changing the rear main seal and the bearing on the cap had a scratch on it. I can run my fingernail across it and it snags. Pulled the bearing caps on the rest of the bearings and 5 of the 7 had scratches. The journals on the crankshaft are smooth. What is the down side of putting it back together and running it this way? Is changing the bearings the recommended thing to do? Can I buy the same bearing size as shown on the back side of the bearing? Being this deep in a motor is new to me.
