242 year differences

Aside from the spline change are there any other changes over the years of the 242 in the XJ? Did the 242HD come in V8 GCs? Are there any installation differences between that and the XJ 242? Any other vehicles the 242 came in that would be swap in? Thanks.

There aren't any direct swaps but the 242 came in a few other vehicles, such as the 242-HD that was used in some Dodge trucks and the 242-AMG that was used in the H1 Hummer/HMMV

I'm assuming when you say there aren't any direct swaps you mean aside from the 242 that was offered in the XJ already? The 242-AMG is without the 2wd option correct? When did the speedo change?

speedo assembly is interchangeable and not an issue afaik

what about the renix era 242 that used the cable speedo?

there were several different sender assemblies but they all use the same hole, just pop them in and out
