Tie rod question

Is there any diffrence in tie rods from 1990 to 1991+ models? I have a chance to get a friends complete new front steering rebuild for about a quarter the price of new. His is a 1991 cherokee, mine is a 1990 cherokee. Any help is appreciated

Pretty sure the drag link was beefed up on the later models at some point around that time, but not sure on the exact year split.

Tie rod has always been the way it is, you can get an easy upgrade by picking up one built for a V8 equipped ZJ.
