loose gauge cluster connector..right?

Hi, thanks for reading,

1999, stock
at start up, sometimes the gauges don't function, odometer works
I tap on the cluster glass and it all comes to life.


I should take the gauge cluster out, clean the connector, electric grease and reinstall, right?

Yes had the same issue in my '00 seems to be pretty common, sometimes it was just my gauges sometimes it was the whole cluster and I would get the no bus error on the odometer. I cleaned up the back of the cluster and put some dielectric grease on it and put it back together.

Dielectric grease. :wave1:

While you have it apart, tug on the harness some to try and get a little strain relief on the connector.
