AC Questions

I have a 96 with the 4.0L. My Ac is not cooling very well it. It blow cool air when on but not cool enough to make the cabin comfortable.

I check the oil level it is correct. The system was evacuated leak tested and filled to the proper level.

It was 91 degrees when i check the pressers of the low and high side

Low(blue) 39 psi
High(Red) 220 psi

In the morning and night the AC works the best. After work or any time the it sits in the sun the ac is terrible and barely cools.

Also where does the Evaportator drain form the body there never is a puddle of water under the cherokee?

How would you know if the evaportator is freezing up?

I have the exact same problem with my 00.

Outsider, does the air temperature seem to be much cooler when the engine is at a higher RPM?

It does not seem to have an effect. I wonder if the compressor is just tired it has a 191,000 + miles on it.
