Having a hell of a time removing timing cover seal

So the Harmonic balancer on my rig decided to come apart... i decided that while i was changing it, i might as well replace the timing cover seal. BUT, i cannot get this Mother F*$&er out!

i would appreciate any tips or tricks that may have helped you remove one of these.
 
yes, balancer is removed already... that was a breeze.

i cant seem to get the SEAL out... i have replaced many seals before, none as difficult as this one.
 
If the seal pullers don't work, the other way is to drill a small hole into the seal, put a sheet metal screw in, and jerk it out with a slide hammer. Had to do that once but that was on a bilge pump on an aircraft carrier.
