Simple Dana 35 tech question

What year shafts are interchangeable between c-clip D35s? I know some things changed throughout the years, but I believe it was only carrier/gear related. I'm having a hard time finding a solid answer, but from what I gathered so far 90-91 were different by a fraction of an inch in length. But when you look up 27sp Alloy USA shafts for a D35 they say for 90-06.

Is it just a difference in length? Would one have to change both? Anybody know if the brakes changed (namely backing plates)? The drums are the same.

Reason I'm asking, '91 XJ D35 (non-ABS), passanger side shaft is tweaked. I have a guy locally I can get both shafts from a '01 TJ for dirt cheap.

Wow, nobody knows what D35 shafts are interchangeable? Seems like they all interchange, as long as I change them both.

Jeep D35 shafts are interchangeable. The difference you are seeing is between C-Clip and Non C-clip axles.

why would you do anything to a 35? 29 spline 8.25s are cheap and a whole lot stronger
