over heating

Are you sure it is a closed system--pressure bottle, no cap on radiator? Just asking, 91 was a changeover year.

Is it really overheating or has the pressure bottle cap failed? When it is cooled down see if you can tighten the cap, if it screws all the way down then "pops" loose like it stripped, then you have a couple of options:

1. Put a worm clamp around the cap, tighten the cap to just short of it "popping" again, then tighten the clamp down.

2. Put a Stant 10244 cap on it. That is the cap off of a Volvo 2.3 L in the 700 series of cars. It will seal on OEM and aftermarket bottles, it is lower in profile so it doesn't impact the hood when the bottle expands and that helps prevent cracks in the bottle, and it is about 6 psi higher than a stock cap and that will raise the boiling point of your coolant somewhat higher.

Can you provide more specifics--highway or city? What additional details can you provide?
