Union sucks (just my experience working with them).
I was releaseing the trailer from the dock and had the seat belt off for a minute rolling back and the supervisor came by and said buckle up. I said thanks for reminding me and an hour later i was called to the office and it went from there We push out alot of product they have five shift over lapping each other. This company make so much money so why not give the guys a decent wage and not have to work the friggin 40 to 60 hour of ot. The company leases the building. wtf. Would you not want to take care of your workers if they made you bank. Hastayou filed a complaint because you were reprimanded for not following safety procedures? did you not know you were supposed to have it on?
I don't understand what the rant is about, is it because someone else makes more money than you working just as hard? welcome to the club!
unions are great... just look at how well our school system is doing under their control, or how well the auto industry is doing in the US.
Ya, I agree there what happened to helping the people live better. People got greedy. There it is!

Well two weeks ago I was picking up my check on an off day and in the parking lot was a guy on a Harley looking like some biker. So he introduced him self and well lets just say he is the president of the AWPPW this is a pulp and paper mill ( Kimberly Clark) plant in the fullerton and we in Redlands are geting paid all most half there wage and we do the same thing they do in fullerton. This came down pretty nasty today. I was to to see the plant manager and the HR was present. Well I got suspended for not wearing my seat belt on the forklift. They pick and choose who they want to screw with. I got with the parent company union rep and filed charges against them to the NLRB. Labor board. Guys at this site are tired of the last minute policy changes and flex the rules when they want. I had to turn over my security badge and escorted by management and the security guard to my rig. I used words when I left that I have not said in a really long time . Super beyond kind of pissed or UFC pissed off. Sorry about this rant . Its not over we sent HR a fax of the wrongfully charge against me. I was told to call HR in the morning until this investivation was over. After taking everthing out of my locker and company ID badge. BS
dont you have anything better to do than bitch about your personal life on a Jeep website??????:looser:
Most of the time I wear my glasses and seat belt driving backwards and honking the horn. Ever since I spoke with this union president in the parking lot with the supervisor comming outside to speak with this guy things have been really tight new private property sighs were posted but, yet a lady comes buy and caters food to some of the workers. Pick and choose is how this is. The leader ship is breaking the rules daily. I was hired to do a job and my record shows (clean then after this encounter things changed. Sorry, about your dad i have seen a lady along time ago have her leg run over. I'm totally for saftey but no writin warrning ,verbal, just the one strike law.Wait, you broke a rule and are pissed they did something about it?
There has to be more to the story than that, previous offense, still on probation, something.
You sound like someone who would want the union.
No offense meant, but you gotta be responsible for yourself and work safe.
Wither you think its a big deal or not, rules are there for a reason.
My dad almost lost his leg driving a forklift because it had the wrong type of tire. It flopped on its side and he didn't have a belt on and is crushed his leg. They wanted to amputate it, but his dad said no. 20 some years later he has ZERO feeling in his leg because of it.
Follow the rules at all times esp when operating machinery and work hard.
Then you will have no need for union help and can save your money.
