If you're a BMC drinker, you may just want to skip this entire thread.

The 2011 National Homebrewer's Convention will be held in San Diego, June 16-18. I went to this year's event in Minnesota, and had a great time. More good & great beers than you can shake a stick at, as well as the best homebrewers in the country.

The site still shows this year's event, I doubt it will be long before next year's shows up.

Ryan Brown will probably be there....

Ummm, June 16-18 was a few days ago.

Maybe July?

2011, dude...

I'm bringing this up now. The convention sold out here a couple of months ago. While you won't need to register within a couple of days of opening up, I wouldn't wait too long.

lol, wow 2011.

Is that something that new brewers could check out?

My brother and I are working on setting up a little brewing setup at my place, but neither of us have a clue what we are doing...

Find your local brewclub, and talk to them about getting started. More than likely, you'll get more help than you thought possible. Two other good sources, _How to Brew_ by John Palmer (online free version at something like http://www.howtobrew.com,) and Charlie Papazian's beginner's guide to homebrewing.

As far as the convention, it's everything from mild to wild. Denny Conn had a couple of sessions on getting started in all-grain brewing, sessions on the malting process, fermentation management, John Blichmann talked about setting up your own brewery, etc.
