AW4 from 4.0 Grand the same?

The AW4 in my 93 XJ is tired and deserves retirement. I found a very low mileage AW4 out of a 93 Grand with the 4.0. My question is: are these two trannys identical or are there ANY differences, including any wiring, electronics, mounts, etc. Anything?

Should be the same, they were only used for about 1/2 year in 93.

If they're not identical, they're close enough that you can overcome any change. The AW4 didn't change (electrically or mechanically,) with the possible exception of a late-year change in the overdrive ratio - making it a little deeper (from 22% to 26% or so, I think.)
