ABS relay is fried

I am not a complete newb but I am regarding my XJ. It is a 92 sport 4.0 AW4 with ABS.

I bought my XJ from a gal down the street dirt cheap. It runs great and drives great ...except the brake pedal was squishy. As part of my routine going through and replacing bulbs I replaced some burnt idiot lights in the dash and discovered the check antilock light is one.

Upon further investigation, it appears my ABS pump relay is fried. But before I spend $30 to replace the relay, is anyone aware of any normal trouble spots where I could have bad wiring? My first thought was back at the rear.

Sorry for the book. Any thoughts or recommendations?

$30 for the relay? Where are you getting this relay?

Go source a couple at the salvage yard for $5. You can use a multimeter to check for shorts.

I do have one local salvage yard. It isn't a you-pull-it, but I will give them a call.
