Oxygen Sensor Heating Element Issues

Ok, so i have this same problem on two different 2001 XJ's now...

CEL is on, when codes are read it gives code P0155, which is oxygen heater element bank 2 sensor 1.

so far i have:

checked all the fuses

tested the resistance of all the sensors (each have ~6ohms between the white wires)

replaced one oxygen sensor altogether (i ran under the assumption that bank 2, sensor 1 was the before-cat sensor closest to the firewall)

...and the CEL light is still on. if i clear it the code stays away for a while then comes back. there is no noticeable loss in fuel economy or performance.

we have been driving one of the jeeps around like this for about 2 years now, and it is time to sell it and i need to get this sorted out...any input??

Well, I don't have the FSM for the 01, but on earlier XJs there is an oxygen heater relay.

Good luck.

Ok, re-read your original post, not sure on the 01, isn't bank 2 after the CAT?

Are you getting voltage to the sensors for heating?
