Can't get the carrier out to change seals

I went to change the inner axle seals on my dana 30 last night and i could not get the carrier out. I pulled the axles shafts and the caps off and tryed prying it out and it will not come out. Please help!!!!!!!!!

Run a rag through the ring and pinon. It'll force the carrier up and out.
Be sure to mark the caps and their orientation before you forget if you haven't already.

Leave the caps and bolts loosely attached so the carrier doesn't go bouncing across the ground.
