1999 Sport 4.0 AW4 NP231 - I had to pull the engine for some un-related service. I also pulled the Trans and TC.
There seems to be a lot of rotational slop in the TC front output shaft. I thought I would open the TC up and inspect the chain. I consulted both my 1990 and 2000 FSMs. Neither has an inspection procedure for the chain or any tolerances listed. I hate to spend the money on a chain if I don't need one. Can anybody tell me from experience what is acceptable for this "slop", or some other way to test the chain?
TIA,
MoFo
