Dana 30 Ball joint

How do you set the split ring bushing in the knuckle correctly when replacing ball joints...87 Cherokee. I seem not to believe the haynes book.My factory service manual fails to say anything about it in the ball joint replacement section.Thanks

The fsm provides a dimension from the bottom of the knuckle to the bottom of the bushing.

for some reason my wagoneer has no split ring even though the new moogs came with one.... might be the case
