is this realy all there is to this setup? thats crazy easy for sure. ive been checking out options for on board air set ups and came across this option. i had heard about using York compressors but never realised that it was an a/c pump. Ive had the whole CO2 setup before and was not really that happy with it and found it to be a little annoying to have to mount the bottle verticle in order to use it.
a few questions though.....

of those of you that have done this what is the reliabilty of the compressor once its being used for air?

Have you noticed an increase in engine cooling with having the condensor removed?

Would there be a benifit to mounting the air intake on the exterior of the vehicle (like a snorkel only smaller and maybe near the base of the windshield) vs engine bay (near the compressor, link 1 pg. 4, or fender, link 2 pic. 2 & 5) vs ram air right behind the radiator?

what is the best pressure switch range i would look for?

what is the PSI and CFM of just the compressor alone?

is it ideal or required to have a tank?

i guess thats it for now ill probably have more questions after i get a few answers.

I noticed a big increase of cooling when i removed the condensor. Mounting the air intake in the cowl on the pass. side to allow it to take in cooler air couldn't hurt. I believe the tank is required as the compressor doesn't put out enough cfm to do alot of good by itself.

COWL!!! i have been trying to think of that dang word since i wrote this thanks.

would the intake have to be elbowed like the snorkel for water issues?

whats the differance in filled and dry guages (other than one is filled with a liquid of some kind)? is it for vibration resistance so you dont get the bouncing needle syndrome i had with the CO2 set up?

Filled gauges are for more acurate applications and either should work fine in this circumstance. I would recommend angling the intake filter in the cowl to keep it on top, or if you put it in about 2 inches inboard of the pass. side hood hinge there's the big hole that the a/c system in the dash uses that would keep it dry as well as it's got a 1" tall metal surround going around the hole.

i keep foregtting that NAXJA does not have a freaking sig deal till you pay. i have a 1998 Cherokee sport.

ill have to look around my engine bay for a good place and just do some planning.
