So I know that the tubes on the 8.8 need to be welded and that the center section needs to be preheated and then the cooling needs to be controlled. I bought some fiberglass insulation sheets form Lowes the other weekend and am going to use those along with some old blankets to control the cool down. As far as the preheating goes the best I can do is a MAPP gas torch. Is this going to be enough to get it hot enough? If so, how long should I heat it before welding, and also would a little post weld heat before wrapping it up to cool help things out? TIA
