Trying to get one so im not bumming off other peoples ish. I like the ones where you can close the hood and grill. So looking for something like this. Carol has a nice one and so does Anthony. Where did you guys buy yours from and how much? dont feel like spending a butt load.

Found this but it doesn't close while you grill.

this one does.

thanks guys!

Any of the Weber Q series are very nice. http://www.weber.com/grills/?glid=6&mid=33 More expensive, but they'll last forever. I've gone through numerous cheapos, and bought the Q 220 model, which is the nicest portable gas grill I've owned. Works well as a portable grill or backyard fixture. Cast iron grate is heavy duty.

I may have a spare similar one to that first posted one if you want to use it/have it. I'll have to look tho.

Hey buddy, carol has my old one...I used it for about 2 years before passing it to her.

It was bought very inexpensively at Walmart(not sure, but I think it was less than $50.00), and served us well. Don't let the price put you off, the burner, starter, and valve are very robust.....

I'm probably going to go with the weber listed above, but we aren't decided yet.

That Weber is nice but a bit out of my price range. :(

They have that same one at walmart in La mesa (san diego). It looked to have the same burner and valve as the one I gave to carol.

I'd very much consider it, since I know it's a good performer, and it meets our goal of reducing the overall weight and size of our kit loadout.

The one thing that needs to be considered is the fact that this grill as well as the one I gave Carol tend to use a small green propane bottle every two meals or so, which can get expensive, unless you have a larger, refillable container, (which I'm sure some of you do)

Cheers! :spin1:

Go yard saleing or look on CL for an old Coleman stove. I found one on the side of the road, cleaned it up and have used it for years now. I cook on it and throw down a skillet to grill. Runs on propane.

I have a gas stove that doesnt work cause the line that attaches to the gas bottle is missing. Aside from having that i need a propane grill. ill keep looking.

i love my coleman, got it at big 5 over 10 years ago and its still working great. my parents had the same one as well 30 years ago, and it still works.

I used to use one like this for many years:

I then got this one and liked it much better:

I have also used a full propane version of this:

You would need to use some sort of griddle or pan to cook steaks, burgers, hot dogs, etc.

I am not sure if I still have that or not. I will check and get back to you and we can work something out if interested.

that be sweet! let me know what you find. IM thinking of heading to Ventura friday or sat too.
V-town is still kinda far from me, and I will definitely look. I will be at SoCalFest, so if I do have a spare its yours.. maybe trade you for a small propane tank or 2 ;)
